On Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 2:00 PM (Bangkok time), the 6th German Thai Medical Forum was held online via Zoom under the theme “German-Thai Perspectives on Osteosarcoma Management Around the Knee.” The event brought together distinguished experts from Thailand and Germany to share academic knowledge and clinical experiences.

The forum was honored by the presence of: Prof. Dr. Keerati Chareancholvanich, Head of Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, who delivered the opening remarks. Assist. Prof. Rapin Phimolsarnti, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, who served as the moderator. Prof. Saranatra Waikakul, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Bangkokthonburi University, who co-chaired the session.

Keynote lectures were delivered by: Professor Dr. med. T. Aung, Deggendorf Institute of Technology, Germany, on “Safe and Sustainable: Modified Rotation Plasty as Therapy for Osteosarcoma in Distal Femur and Proximal Tibia.”

Assist. Prof. Chandhanarat Chandhanayingyong, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, on “Limb Salvage and Reconstruction in Osteosarcoma of the Knee: Outcomes and Challenges from Thailand.”

This academic forum served as an important platform to strengthen German-Thai collaboration in orthopaedic oncology. It provided valuable opportunities for medical professionals to exchange knowledge, experiences, and clinical strategies in the management of osteosarcoma around the knee.
